Ardmac Secures Landmark Agratas Facility Project with Jaguar Land Rover

$182 Billion by 2030

Global Lithium-ion Battery Market Size

Manchester, United Kingdom – April 2026 — Ardmac, the international specialist in high-tech construction and precision-engineered environments, today announces it has been awarded the delivery of the clean and dry rooms for the new Agratas battery manufacturing facility, marking a significant milestone in the company’s continued expansion into advanced manufacturing and energy infrastructure.

Powering the Future

The facility is being developed by Agratas, the global battery business of the Tata Group, and represents one of the UK’s most strategically significant investments in battery manufacturing. Jaguar Land Rover and Tata Motors will be the facility’s first customers, with batteries destined for electric vehicles across the Range Rover, Defender, and Jaguar brands.

By the early 2030s, the facility is expected to contribute almost half of the UK automotive sector’s projected battery manufacturing capacity, playing a critical role in accelerating the UK’s transition to electrification and strengthening domestic battery supply chains.

Ardmac’s appointment reflects its growing reputation as a trusted delivery partner for complex, high-specification environments across global markets.

Supporting the Future of Electrification

The Agratas facility represents a major step forward in the UK’s battery manufacturing capability, underpinning the next generation of electric vehicle production. As demand for high-performance battery technologies accelerates, facilities of this nature require exceptional levels of technical precision, programme certainty, and operational reliability.

Ardmac has been awarded responsibility for the delivery of the facility’s clean and dry rooms—critical environments essential to battery cell production, where precise environmental control is required to ensure manufacturing quality, consistency, and performance.

Leveraging its fully integrated Design, Manufacture, and Build model, Ardmac will deliver these highly controlled spaces to the highest standards of quality, safety, and technical performance. The project will require advanced construction methodologies, precision engineering, and rigorous environmental controls—areas in which Ardmac has established deep expertise.

Ardmac’s experience in delivering controlled environments for advanced manufacturing sectors positions it strongly to support the stringent technical requirements of battery production. Its approach integrates early-stage design collaboration with offsite manufacturing and on-site execution, enabling efficient delivery while maintaining rigorous compliance with industry standards.

A Partnership Built on Performance and Trust

Commenting on the award, Luis Coelho Borges Ardmac said:

“Securing this landmark project with Agratas is a significant achievement for Ardmac and a clear demonstration of our capability to deliver complex, high-value technical environments at scale.
